Famous Painters of Renaissance (1300s)

Michelangelo was considered the greatest living artist in his lifetime, some paintings, and sculpture rank among the most famous existence. He was dynamic in every field of sheer volume of sketches and correspondence. The two best-known works would be David and Pieta, were sculpted before he turned thirty. Michelangelo low opinion of painting did not stop him from doing some influential works in fresco in the scenes from Genesis on the ceiling and the last judgment on the altar wall of the Sistine Chapel in Rome. As an architect, he pioneered the Mannerist style at the Laurentian Library.
